Welcome Back Dinner
Meet and Mingle with Thetas from DC and Maryland during our Welcome Back Potluck Dinner on Tuesday, September 28. This year we will be hosting the event at the brand-new Silver Spring Civic Center (1 Veterans Plaza) in Downtown Silver Spring. There is free parking right across the street and it is walking distance from the Silver Spring Metro (red line). See old friends and make new ones. Toiletry Collection
As the summer brings about travel and vacation season, we have decided to collect mini toiletries (such as hotel shampoo) for Miriam's Kitchen in Foggy Bottom. Their mission is to provide individualized services that address the causes and consequences of homelessness in an atmosphere of dignity and respect, both directly and through facilitating connections in Washington, D.C. Collect your unused toiletries and bring them to September's Welcome Back Dinner.

City KATS
Whether you're new to DC or a Washington native, join us for happy hours, dinners, and other fun downtown events throughout the year. Recent events have included a picnic at the Cherry Blossom Festival, bowling at Lucky Strike, Wine and Art Night, and various happy hours. Book Club
The book club reads interesting books throughout the year, meeting in the evening. Join the book club email list to find out more by contacting Carol. We meet in the Chevy Chase Pavilion courtyard (by Starbucks). This summer we are reading Beach Music by Pat Conroy.

Lunch Groups
We have several lunch groups meeting throughout the year in Bethesda, Gaithersburg and Downtown. This is a low-key way to get to know someone fellow areas in your area.

The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Lunch Bunch
This small group meets once a month at the Bethesda Marriott (Pook's Hill) in the Agio Restaurant at noon. An e-mail notice is sent about ten days before with the date. A telephone call is made to those who don't have e-mail. We come from all over the area; some often, some only occasionally. DC Lunch Bunch
We meet random days of the month, trying out different restaurants, so you need to be on the email list to find out where we are each month. Send a note to Jane if you are interested in the email reminders. We meet at 12:00 or so, but come when you can and ask for the Theta reservation. We order as soon as we arrive so lunch comes through the conversation, and you are free to leave when you need to.

Saturday Brunch Bunch
Brunch is a wonderful DC tradition. We meet the first Saturday of the month at 11 AM at a local restaurant in Dc, Northern Virginia, and southern Maryland. Interested? Contact Pamela to get the latest restaurant choice and date.

First Event
Shivani Sharma has agreed to coordinate first event dinners. These dinners are designed for the sister who has never been to a DC/MD event or if it has been awhile.

Each of you belongs to many special interest groups. You may experience or learn about a program that might be of interest to us all.
